Trick or Treat

Sometimes I just wish I can forget this day altogether. Today was a hectic one, with me running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to figure out what to dress the baby up as. Finally it hit me and was so simple. I would dress her up as a Cabbage Patch Kid.I just dressed her in pants and a shirt and stole a tag off one of Felecity's Cabbage Patch Dolls. It is kinda funny how I decided on this. We were shopping for outfits for the kids on Sunday and couldn't find anything in Aurora's size. Well the brother-in-law and his two kids showed up there as well. He was playing with Aurora when my husband told him about her new teeth. He kept telling her she looks like a Cabbage Patch Kid. So that's how it kind of came about. She is cute though. I will post some pics of the kids in their outfits soon. The evening started out with me having to go pick the hubby up at a job he has been working on. He was working late like usual so we didn't get a start till like 6:30pm. At the first stop we thought we were doing good keeping them from eating a lot of candy, but by the time the night was over they ate way too much. We would keep their bags up front from place to place, but they soon figured out if they stuffed while they were their they would get more. At our last stop it was one of my good friends apartment. Well needless to say she has a boyfriend that just loves to be mean to me. So the kids got their candy from them and then behind him I saw 3 cans of Dew. He was trying to hide them, but yeah the kids spotted them too. So you know. Maybe I'll wait and let them have them when they are babysitting! Oh I can't wait til he has kids! All in all they had fun and so did we.

Sometimes I ask myself "How do I do it?"

How do I do it? I ask myself this often,Of course with four children driving me up the wall. Today I woke up to find the boys totally recked their room. Yeah It was that way last night but not to this extent. So I finally decided this morning I was fed up with the mess. They weren't listening to me,when I told them to clean it like a hundred times. So I got a bag for the trash and started picking up papers they have decided to just rip up for no particular reason. As I was picking these up I started to smell a strong smell of urine. No it wasn't from our dog this was too much for a dog. My kids 3 out of the 4 decided it would be fun to pee all over their room. Keep in mind they are 6,5,and 3years old. So I decided since nothing else has worked for their behavior they were going to lose everything. I then got out a second bag for their toys and started cleaning out the toy box. By the time I was done with the kids rooms I had 1 big bag of trash (most of it was from under their bed and dresser etc..) and 4 bags full of toys. I did keep the toys that are from when we were little and put the away in a trunk. Hopefully our grand kids can treat them better. At first I thought I was being harsh but then I thought about how they did something like this thinking it was ok. I know kids will be kids but come on..

I later vacuumed and shampooed the carpet, hoping the smell comes out. If ya have any ideas on how to get that smell out let me know. I hate when my house stinks. Any little smell bothers me. Oh the Joys of Motherhood!
I also want to share Aurora's new toy. She thinks this is the only thing that matters these days. But I do have to say it beats her peeing on the floor. Here is a pic. How cute.

The joys of childbirth

Last night was a long one. I got a phone call around 11:30pm. It was one of my good friends calling to tell me that she was at the hospital and the doctor just broke her water. She has been wanting me there so I got myself dressed and headed that way. She dilated pretty slowly. They kept moving her and putting oxygen on her. She finally was getting close and they came in and decided they wanted her to have a c-section due to the baby's heart rate. She wasn't happy to hear that. She really wanted to go all they way without complications. So that really frustrated her. He was finally born at 7:00am weighing in at 7lbs 7oz and 19 inches long. He is so cute! As you can see in the picture he is a screamer.
I was pretty tired as was she. We were up all night. So I guess I'm off to go see him again tonight since I didn't get to hold him yet seeing how I had to leave before I got the chance. So Check back soon as I should have some more pictures.

Wow what a weekend

Wow I am sore sore and wore out. This last weekend was a busy one!
Friday we went out a friend's house. They were having a haunted woods and hay ride. The kids said they wanted to go through the haunted woods so we took them through it. They seemed to be OK only got scared a little. We told them them it wasn't real before we went in,so I think that helped. We also stayed a little while to eat and site by the fire. We left after that to meet my brother at our house so him and Travis could work on his chain on his quad. They eventually gave up and decided it was better to just buy a new chain for it. Well I was up late as normal and couldn't sleep.
Saturday I got up and me and Chelsey went to Thompson's to get Travis's chain. While I was there I got some new goggles and ordered the screws I needed for my quad. We left and was on our way home then my brother called and wanted me to get him some goggles so we headed toward another Motor sports store that was along the way. We also seen my dad along the way as he was on the walk. (it's a thing they do every year for ISU homecoming as the walk from bar to bar along the way to the stadium.) Well needless to say we had to pick him up and take him back were he started. We made it back home finally. I spent the rest of the night cleaning and doing laundry while the guys worked on Travis's quad. I never seem to get caught up.
Sunday was an early start as we left the house at 7am and was on our way to Laurel Indiana to ride our quads. We had a lot of fun and did a lot of riding. We did manage to get lost for about an hour. It was right before dark and we were going up some pretty steep hills so luckily we found our way back before dark or that could have been a bad deal. Especially if we would go up a hill not knowing what was at the top. We left right after that since we were all pretty tired. We got home late and went strait to bed.
Monday we had to get up early get the boys on the bus and then get Felecity ready for her center day at her school. We dropped her off then were on our way to Indy to take Aurora to see a Doctor in Riley. That at went ok. She had to have her Medicine changed again and we are trying something different. We have to go back in a month and go from there. So that was a long day. We had to got pick the kids up at Brittanee's when we got back. Luckily she went by our house to make sure someone was there to pick the boys up off the bus. Of course there was no one there. So needless to say the person that was supposed to be there is not a reliable person! I was pretty mad seeing how she said she would be there and the fact I asked to make sure like three different times. So you would have imagine how I felt. Until next time..

What is the world coming to?

So today was a little stressful. My day started like usual. Then later in the afternoon a friend came over. As we were sitting there talking and playing with the kids the news came on for a special report. As it came on I was sitting there thinking what is going on now. Well needless to say there was a shooting today at on of our local elementary schools. I never thought it would happen here in our town. I just thought when it came on it was something happening somewhere else. Boy was I wrong! My heart immediately sank. I was sitting there thinking what is the world coming too? Thank God no one was hit by the bullet. They were shooting from the outside is what the news has been saying. I wish I had another option for schooling for my children. Yeah I could home school them but I don't know how to go about doing that and I have no idea if it is something I can keep persistant about. They seem to listen to other people better than us and I want my kids to have a good education. This is pretty sad you have to worry about your kids every day of the week. I of course went to pick up my boys. I was almost in tears when I went to pick them up. This could have been worse. I really hope they find who did this and they pay. This is really scary! What are parents to do? I know I sound like I'm rambling but it just blew me away that this has happened in our town. Here is the latest on this story http://mywabashvalley.com/content/fulltext/?sid=d3bf8cb1afb08a50b2ab719ecfac2e3b&cid=6171
This weekend is going to be busy busy busy! We have a Halloween Party to go to, Chandler is supposed to camp out at the boy scout camp with Dad of course. Then we are planning to go to Laural, Indiana to go riding. Also a friend of ours is wanting us to go to his cabin to eat chili etc...
At some point in time I want to make it back up to Mansfield. You always get to good deals on the last day.
Until next time....

Theft among Children

OK as you may or may not have figured out my child stole. It wasn't till today when cleaning the boys room did I realize that Preston stole two tubes of chap stick from the grocery store when we were there on Saturday. I was so ashamed! This is something I don't know what to do. How do I punish him? He's 5years old I would think he knew better but I was wrong. Is he going to do this every time we go to a store? I know he is a very busy boy,but I never would have thought! I just don't know what to do??

Anyways Halloween is coming up and I have no ideas what to dress the kids up as. I know the boys will want to pick their own outfits out,but I still have the girls outfits to worry about. Usually by now I have some clue but this year I'm clueless. We plan on going to the American Legion like we do every year. I guess Travis won some tickets to a Haunted House too ,so I'm sure we will be going there. I also have a friends Halloween party that is coming up this weekend. They are having a haunted woods and hayrides. That should be fun! I also want to try to make it to a few other Haunted Houses. We also have been wanting to make Pumpkin Works this year since we have never been. I hope I don't get too scared.
We have yet to buy the kids pumpkins,so that is probably one thing we will try to get done this weekend. Then it's time to carve them. That should be fun seeing how they are still a little young and need our help. Chandler wants to carve sponge bob. That should be a tricky one. Stay tuned.

Here goes nothing...

I thought since I write a lote of blogs that I would start writing on here. Aurora now has not one but two brand new teeth. I was so excited since none of my other kids got theirs til almost a year old or after. It seems she is growing so fast, but I thought the other kids did too. They make me feel so old at times. Then there are the times when I want to go insane of course who wouldn't with four kids. I love my kids don't get me wrong but we all need a break at times. I decided to get a break on Sunday. When I got home I just couldn't figure out what was different about Felecity's hair. Well I finally found out today when I asked Felecity if someone cut her hair and she said "yeah uh Mister Preston did". It's better when she says it. Anyways her and Chandler proceeded to tell me that they took my cuticle scisors to Travis. Needless to say Travis said nothing about it. I was pissed! This is the third time in two years this has happened at this rate the will have long hair like never! That boy can't leave anything alone. Last time he used the same scisors and cut my shower curtain too. Here I thought I hide them from him. But when Travis is sleeping he hears nothing so it was bound to happen. So he's in the doghouse too.
I just wish for once I could go somewhere without the kids and not have to worry about my house being a mess.
